With concerns about the seismic performance of the Strathmore Bridge and the football field above it in the case of a seismic event, UCLA enlisted Icon West to perform the necessary upgrades and modifications to ensure the integrity of the structure and the safety of the public. The bridge is a reinforced and pre-stressed concrete structure built in 1966 that spans Strathmore Drive between Parking Structure 8 to the South and Spaulding Athletic Field to the North. It supports a portion of the athletic practice field that extends over Strathmore Drive and provides vehicular access to Parking Structure 8 from Strathmore Drive.
