DESCRIPTION: Icon West has recently completed the construction of a new state of the art Gymnasium at the Monroe Middle School. This project presented a unique challenge between the owners and the DWP which resulted in a significant delay. Fortunately, Icon West was able to implement an accelerated schedule to mitigate this issue and maintain the original schedule delivery date. The project scope included the construction of a new indoor basketball court with folding back-steps, retractable seating, raised platform stage, lockers and shower rooms, coach offices, ground level classrooms with stairs and elevator. The building was fully air-conditioned and equipped with a new soundproof roof system and automatic fire sprinkler system. This IUSD sound proof project also included an electrical and communication system upgrade along with site utility works, ADA parking upgrade, site concrete, asphalt and landscaping.
